It’s been a long pause since our last little write,
But trust us, we planned it—it just didn't feel right.
The finish was close, so we held back the cheer,
To share the grand ending when all was clear!
🔨
It started in August, the fourth was the day,
Two floors of our home were soon swept away.
The kitchen went roaming—deck, basement, and bath,
Where washing up dishes became quite the laugh.
Out went the cabinets, all sturdy oak pride,
And the cherry we laid with my dad by my side.
But not all was lost—there’s a plan we adore,
It will grace our deck as a feature once more!
Piece after piece, the old fell apart,
But seeing it rebuild was the best kind of art.
Framing and plumbing, then wires in line,
Drywall and paint gave a glimpse of design.
Like shadows at first, just outlines in view,
But trades came like maestros, each knowing their cue.
A symphony played under Tricolor’s lead,
With patience and skill, they planted the seed.
🌳
Choices galore—oh, the list was a feat,
From colors to counters to flooring beneath.
Lighting and hardware, the faucets and sinks,
Railings and millwork—so many links!
The ceilings now smooth, not a popcorn in sight,
Cabinets stood waiting for quartz to unite.
Walls prepped and aching for paint’s final kiss,
Each checkmark a triumph, a moment of bliss.
Counters and lights, then the flooring went down,
Sinks and the faucets soon followed around.
Trim hugged the walls, and the doors found their frame,
Each detail arriving to stake its own claim.
Appliances landed, the sparkle was near,
The hum of the trades began to disappear.
From chaos to calm, the silence felt strange,
Our home had completed its grandest exchange.
🔌
We laughed at the memories of washing in tubs,
Of meals on the deck and basement food clubs.
The dust and the noise, the hammering sound,
Now traded for beauty that’s all around.
From August to Christmas, the journey was long,
But now in this home, our hearts sing a song.
For what was a dream is now shining and bright,
The best gift of all on that holiday night!
🎁
So here’s to the choices, the patience, the cheer,
To every decision we made through the year.
Our home is renewed, and we’re thrilled to the core,
Would we do it again? …We’re not closing that door! 😜
🚪
From framers to painters, each skill played its part,
Electricians and plumbers brought life to the heart.
Craftsmanship shone in each detail and seam,
Without all these trades, it would still be a dream!

The time has now come for the grandest of shows,
Before and after—how our story goes.
From rubble to beauty, the story’s been told,
A home reimagined, both bright and bold!
There are a few more we couldn’t resist,
Not side-by-side, but they still top the list.
The finished details, the style and flair,
Little glimpses of home we’re eager to share!
Entering a reno is not for the meek,
It tests your resolve and the patience you seek.
There are times when you wait, and times you decide,
Between two impossibles—both bona fide!
The clock seems to crawl when you’re longing for more,
Each task feels like waves on a faraway shore.
A list never-ending, a mountain to climb,
Yet somehow you conquer it, time after time.
But with the right people, the journey feels bright,
They guide every step and they get it just right.
We had that and more—what a team we applaud,
Their skill and their care left us truly awed.
So thankful for all who made dreams come alive,
Through dust and through chaos, they helped us survive.
And now that it’s done, we can honestly say,
We love this new home in the grandest way!
To all who were part of this dream we pursued,
Your talent and effort we deeply salute.
Our gratitude runs from the floor to the beams,
You’ve built not just walls—you’ve delivered our dreams!
From the bottom of or hearts. Thank you!
